Upload a document and get a share link

Before you start

• Sign in at scrolly.net. The free plan needs no credit card.
• Have the .html file ready. It must be self-contained: styles, scripts and images inside the one file. Open it from an empty folder to check.

Upload the file

1. Open Documents from the dashboard navigation.
2. Drag the .html file anywhere onto the page, or click Upload HTML and pick the file. The page shows the size your plan allows: 25 MB on Free, 100 MB on Pro.
3. Wait for the upload to finish. The button shows the phase (hashing, uploading, registering) and the new document appears in the list with its title taken from the file.

If the file is not HTML, or is over your plan's cap, the upload is refused before anything is sent and the message tells you why.

Create the first link

1. Click the document's title to open its page.
2. Click Manage links.
3. In the link manager, leave the access mode on Public (anyone with the link) for now, or pick another mode; the next lesson explains the four modes.
4. Optionally set Expires (optional). On the free plan a link expires 30 days after creation unless you choose an earlier date.
5. Click Create link. The link appears in the Share links list with a Copy link action.

Send the copied link. A recipient opens it in any browser; for public and password links they need no account.

Expected result

The Documents list shows the document. Its page lists one share link. Opening the link in a private browser window renders your file.

If something looks wrong

• The page renders without styles or images: the file was not self-contained. Fix the file and upload it again as a new document.
• Upload HTML is disabled: you are at the free plan's ceiling of 5 documents. Delete one you no longer need.
• Create link is disabled: this document already has 3 active links, the free plan's limit. Revoke one first.
